CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- With the Kernels out of town, Jefferson got to play at Veterans Memorial Stadium on June 12 against Des Moines East.

The J-Hawks started off scoring in the first inning. Chase Keeney had a shot through the left side, bringing home Brayden Frazier from third.

Defense helped out the cause later in the 4th inning. Zach Grant was able to track a ball down during the game.

The J-Hawks came away with a win 3-1.

Also of note, it was the last game senior Connor VanScoyoc was able to spend with his teammates, after being drafted by the Angels.
