CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9)-- Mostly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sunshine early afternoon, but the storms will move back in this afternoon and evening. Timing as of now looks to be around 6 to 10 PM when the storms will begin to push into the TV9 viewing area. The storms will be isolated, meaning there won’t be as much as last night.
There is still the risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening. The main threats with the storms will be strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain. The areas in yellow are where the risk for severe weather is more likely.
Once this system moves through, it’s smooth sailing for Father’s Day. Winds pick out of the northwest bringing in cooler and drier air. Highs on Sunday will only reach into the upper 70s!
