I9: Birth certificate of Las Vegas shooter shows he was born in Eastern Iowa

CLINTON, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The man responsible for the deaths of 58 people in Las Vegas is an Iowa native.

I9 has obtained the birth certificate of Stephen Paddock. Multiple details on the birth record, including his middle name and date of birth, match information released by investigators in Nevada. The birth record shows he was born in Clinton at Jane Lamb Hospital on April 9, 1953. It also lists his parents, Dolores and Patrick Paddock, along with the address they lived at, 318 16th Avenue South.

I9 spoke with officials today from both the City of Clinton's assessor office and the county auditor's office who both tell us there are no records that suggest Paddock's parents ever owned the home they lived in. That home was torn down in 2010.

Interestingly, Paddock's father, who at one time was on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted List, is shown on the document as a salesman for the Electrite Corporation.

It is not clear how long Paddock lived in Clinton for, but many reports say he grew up in Tucson, Arizona and Sun Valley, California.
