CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Holiday events bring many food traditions but why not make any meal or snack this time of year merrier with holiday flavors? Today your Hy-Vee dietitian features holiday spices and seasonal produce to add healthy holiday flavor to any meal or snack.

Cinnamon Pear Smoothie
Pear and banana make this drink nutritious and silky smooth, Performance Inspired Whey Protein provides satiety and the spices make it taste like a seasonal treat!
Serves 2
All you need:
1 ripe pear, cored and quartered
1 banana, peeled
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 scoop Performance Inspired Performance Whey vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup almond milk
5 ice cubes
1 Tbsp chia seeds (optional)
All you do:
1. Place all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Dip
Creamy Greek yogurt flavored with Hy-Vee HealthMarket low-calorie, low-fat powdered peanut butter & mini chocolate chips. Serve with crisp fresh fruit, such as pear or apple slices.
Serves 4 (2 tbsp dip per serving)
All you need:
1 container (6 ounces) Hy-Vee nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons Hy-Vee HealthMarket powdered peanut butter
1 tablespoon Hy-Vee mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Apple or pear slices
All you do:
1. Combine yogurt with powdered peanut butter, stirring until smooth.
2. Top with chocolate chips and serve with sliced pears or apple.

Fruity Chicken Salad with Baby Greens
The addition of pomegranate arils gives a holiday flair and flavor to everyday chicken salad.
All you need:
½ cup light mayonnaise
One (6 ounce) container raspberry-flavored light yogurt*
2 cups cooked chicken; diced or shredded
½ cup pomegranate arils
½ cup celery; diced
¼ cup red onion; diced
1 (2 ounce) package Hy-Vee slivered almonds; toasted, if desired
Baby spinach leaves or Romaine lettuce leaves
All you do:
1. Stir together mayonnaise and yogurt in a bowl.
2. Add chicken, orange sections, celery, onion, and almonds. Stir gently until well combined.
3. Serve over baby spinach or Romaine lettuce leaves or on whole-grain bread
