CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The new Linn County Public Health Center could be named after one of the first African American doctors in Cedar Rapids. On Monday, the Board of Supervisors will discuss naming the facility after Doctor Percy Harris and his wife, Lileah.

Dr. Harris died in January at 89 years old. His wife died in 2014. Percy Harris began practicing medicine in Cedar Rapids in 1958, and he served as Linn County medical examiner for nearly 40 years.

Construction on the public health center is almost complete. It's located between the Cedar Rapids Medical District and Newbo neighborhoods.
