CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Cedar Rapids Police say they found 40-year-old Terrance Newman dead at his home at 1506 D Ave NE Sunday night. The State Medical Examiner’s Office says he had at least one gunshot wound.

Tarrence Newman and Stephanie Rinearson

It was hard for Stephanie Rinearson to return to the house where someone killed her boyfriend. She says “I never thought I would pull back up and see his blood.”

She says Newman never had any enemies. She says, “He was fun, he was loving, very upbeat. Very positive. Very family man, he was a family man, he loved his kids.”

She says Newman is leaving behind five kids. Four between the ages of 18 and 5, and her unborn child. Rinearson says she’s five weeks pregnant.

She adds, "There's things going on that just I wish there wasn't but everybody lost Tarrence including me. So we are just taking it one minute at a time.”

They had been dating for 8 months. She says they met while he was walking his dog. She says, “Hopefully I'll get to take the dog. It'll be a good memory to have with the baby.”

Rinearson is still in disbelief, and wants answers. She says, "I love you and I miss you. I just want a sign. I want to know what happened. I just want to know.”

No arrests have been made. Police do not have a suspect identified.
