DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG TV9) -- The parents of a Dubuque toddler, who fought for better cannabis oil access in Iowa, will lay their child to rest on Tuesday.
Abygail Bedtka, 2, died Friday, surrounded by her family.
From the time she was born, Aby had suffered daily seizures that damaged her brain and prevented her from developing.
In 2014, her parents pushed lawmakers to make the use of medical cannabis oil legal in Iowa.
Despite the change in Iowa law later that year, the Bedtkas say they were never able to legally access the oil in Iowa.
Now the family says they're extremely grateful for the community support they have received through Aby's fight.
Her funeral is set for Tuesday April 19 at 1 p.m. at Hope Church in Dubuque.
