CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The first day of meteorological fall doesn’t really seem like fall with highs in the middle 70s and plenty of sunshine. Mother Nature has a few tricks up her sleeve for next week.
Once a cold front swings through the TV9 viewing temperatures will drop significantly. High temperatures will go from 80 degrees to highs only in the low to middle 60s.
Not only will the temperatures drop, but winds will also pick up speed. Expected winds out of the northwest at roughly 15 to 30 mph. Wind gusts will likely be stronger.
The only things missing from this wonderful fall like situation will be the fall foliage.
