CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Plan on some snow to linger through the morning commute over northeast portions of the area. This band of snow will be capable up a quick inch of snow and could cause slick spots on area roads. Especially watch the bridges and overpasses, as well as shoulders and on/off ramps. The snow should be out of this area by 9-10am or so. The remainder of the day continues to look cold and mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the lower to middle 30s for many, which is 25-30 degrees below normal for mid-April. Tomorrow, the sunshine returns and highs should go back to the 40s.
Wednesday, the next system arrives with a mix of rain and snow. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for our northwest counties yet again for the potential for heavy snow in excess of 4". Right now, it appears accumulations on that system will generally be similar to this last one, and mainly on grassy/elevated surfaces. Either way, the fact that this pattern continues is just plain pathetic. The weekend does look warmer with some 50s.
