Dubuque City Council passes second reading of fireworks ordinance

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - The Dubuque City Council has approved the second reading of a fireworks ordinance.

The proposed ordinance would allow businesses to sell and people to possess fireworks within Dubuque. But it would continue an existing ban on shooting off fireworks.

The proposed ordinance now needs a third and final reading. The item will appear before the council for a final vote July 5.
