CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A weak system is moving through the area tonight, keeping our winds a bit breezy from the south, and also giving us a chance for a few flurries. Any snow we see won’t amount to much. Then on Monday, our next chance for light snow arrives by the afternoon. The best chances for this will be north of Highway 30. Temperatures will then climb Monday night, turning any precipitation falling into liquid, but also causing fog to develop across the TV9 viewing area. We will have to watch out for a brief period of icing in northern areas early Tuesday morning, before our ground temperatures rise above freezing for Tuesday. Quieter conditions will last from Tuesday afternoon before a new system looks to bring a chance for wintry mix Wednesday and Wednesday night. This week, temperatures will stay near to above average until Friday.
