Cedar Rapids to host inaugural Halloween Parade

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- New Bohemia and Czech Village will be having their first Halloween Parade on October 27.

The theme of the parade is "Monsters of the Night" and is able to be put on with the support of Czech Village New Bohemia Main Street District, various sponsors and committee members.

The parade coincides with other events throughout the month of October in the Czech Village-New Bohemia District. Some of the events include a Zombie Run, screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and a Halloween Ball.

"We have an awesome lineup of programming for the weekend and hope guests will explore our many shops and restaurants along the way” Jennifer Pruden, Executive Director of the Main Street District said.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. and is expected to finish by 8:30 p.m.

An awards ceremony will be held at the main stage of New Bo City Market at 8:45 p.m.

Participants in the parade will be competing for prizes ranging from "Kids Choice" to a "Most Scary Float" award.

Anyone interested in being a part of the parade needs to submit the entry form and pay for their spot by Monday, October 11.
