Person Shot At Grocery Store In Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) Cedar Rapids Police say one person was shot in the leg Friday night at a grocery store. Police say around 9:20 p.m. they heard gunshots in the area of Jim's Foods at 812 6th Street Southwest. Soon after, emergency dispatch received multiple 911 calls about the shooting.

Police say once they arrived at the store's parking lot they found blood evidence. Officers say they didn't find any victims or suspects there. A short time later, authorities say a 24-year-old male went to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gun shot wound to his leg.

Investigators say the victim was wounded in the parking lot at Jim's Foods. Based on preliminary information, authorities say they believe the shooting victim was specifically targeted.
