Boy Scouts begin annual popcorn fundraiser

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The Boy Scouts of America, Hawkeye Area Council have begun their Popcorn Season.

To kick-off the Scouting Popcorn Season, Ron Corbett, Mayor of Cedar Rapids has purchased the first cases of popcorn from six Cub Scouts.

Starting the week of September 10, the Scouts will be selling popcorn varieties to residents within their neighborhoods.

Some flavored varieties of popcorn include; Caramel Corn with Sea Salt, White Ruby, and Peanut Butter Cup.

The Scouts will also be selling the traditional popping popcorn, along with a mixed variety of microwave popcorn.

The fundraiser helps support the Scouts throughout the year with many events and activities. Camp outings, Pinewood Derby Races, local museum tours, and STEM events are just some of the many events and activities that benefit from the fundraiser.
