DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Iowa Congressman Rod Blum said the new tax law will create a stronger financial environment across the country, including here in Iowa.
"It's working. It's going to work. It's going to sustain growth that we are experiencing now. And we can't have a strong military if we don't have a good economy. We can't take care of veterans, senior citizens, [and] people with special needs, if we don't have a strong economy," Blum said.
Blum also told Dubuque Chamber members on Friday, January 12 he believes two things need to happen to put the U.S. on the right track -- welfare reform and good immigration policy. He says people who are able to work need to work and get off welfare. And he says legal immigrants are great for the workforce here in Iowa and across the U.S.
