CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - A local bell choir performed for the Cedar Rapids police department Thursday morning.

The Ding-a-Lings are from the Garnett Place Retirement Community in Cedar Rapids.

It's been performing since 2010 and has 14 members.

One member said performing for the community helps people forget about their everyday problems.

"When the Ding-a-lings come to visit, it just exudes joy and its very moving when you hear them," said Cathy Gretlein who calls herself the "Head Ding-a-ling."

The bell choir has been performing at the police station for the past five years.

They share holiday favorites at other area businesses throughout the month.
