CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Today’s weather is going to feel a lot cooler compared to what we’ve been experiencing. A much cooler and drier air mass is moving in. In fact, highs today will only top out into the middle to upper 70s, putting us a few degrees below where we should be for this time of year. The mugginess will be gone thanks to a northwesterly wind at 15 to 25 mph. Gusts will likely be stronger.

There is the chance of seeing a few isolated light showers later this afternoon and mainly into the early evening hours. Rain totals won’t amount to much at all. Don’t worry about canceling any outdoor plans with dad

Activities to do with dad today. There’s a Kernels game in Cedar Rapids at 2:05 PM at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Just make sure to hold on to that ball cap. Take dad swimming! Its dollar swim day at most pools in Cedar Rapids. Don’t feel like doing much of anything? Well, you can relax outdoors on a patio or balcony.

Monday’s forecast will be roughly the same with just a few more clouds. There is the small chance of experiencing a stray shower or storm later into the day and early evening hours. The chance is extremely small.

However, Tuesday’s temperatures will warm back into the 80s and more active weather will work its way back into eastern Iowa.
