DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) — Seven people are scheduled to go to trial in October after a federal grand jury indicted them on charges of sex trafficking. According to the indictment, the defendants trafficked three adult victims in the spring and summer of 2017.
Prosecutors said Darren Coleman, Sarina Williams, Mark Carter, Stephen Cobb, Julyen Singleton, Ronzell Williams, and Breanna Brown conspired with one another, and engaged in, sex trafficking of a victim by force, fraud, and coercion. Carter, Cobb, and Coleman are also charged with using a firearm in the course of the offenses. Coleman and Sarina Williams face additional charges releated to taking the victims across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
If convicted, each defendant faces 15-years to life in federal prison.
