"I used to ride on the back of a bike ever since I was a baby with my dad and my mom," she said.
Now able to ride solo, she's tearing up the trails at Cloie Creek Mountain Bike Trail in Asbury, Iowa.
She said, "It's really fun. It's really, really swoopie, I love it."
Tri-State Mountain Bike Riders, also called TMBR, is the group responsible for creating the trail. They first approached the city of Asbury 18 months ago about building the trail. Since then, they've raised around $50,000 to construct the trails, which are a little over two miles long.
It opened in May, and TMBR President Brett Errthum says they've heard great things from riders.
He said, "Feedback from community has been really overwhelming, we're proud of what we got and get great compliments from the people that ride it."
Josie's dad Lance Andre says the trails can be enjoyed by people of all skill levels.
He said, "They have lots of nice bank corners, fun little sections to ride, so easy enough for a beginning rider but still with fun sections that can challenge some people who are just getting better."
TMBR believes the trail is a great addition to the Asbury community.
"They make your community an attractive place to live, raises the property values for all of us, it's great to get the kids outdoors - give them another activity they can do to get them off the couch," Errthum said.
Josie hopes that more kids her age will indeed get off the couch, and pick this activity up.
