CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - A shower or two cannot be ruled out through the afternoon. These shower chances will be very scattered and you can’t rule out a rumble of thunder or two. Showers and a few storms will continue to be very scattered into the evening and overnight hours. Rainfall totals will amount to around a quarter of an inch if you happen see any shower activity.

High temperatures are only expected to warm into the upper 70s today. If you happen to see a bit more sunshine, you’ll likely warm into the low 80s. A northerly wind at 5 to 10 mph will help keep us comfortable today.

Temperatures will continue into the 70s for Friday. Conditions will likely be comfortable even into Saturday with highs only reaching near 80. This weather is welcoming considering the past week’s extreme heat.
