Lance Ryan
Lance comes to TV9 from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he most recently worked as the morning meteorologist for WXOW-TV, so needless to say he is already well accustomed to the “early to bed, early to rise” schedule. Lance is no stranger to TV9 and Eastern Iowa. Lance was born in Dubuque and raised on a farm just across the Mississippi River near Cassville in southwest Wisconsin. He watched TV9 religiously as a boy, especially when severe weather rolled through Grant County. Weather has been Lance’s true passion for quite some time and he credits KCRG’s extensive coverage of severe weather for igniting that passion during his younger years. After high school, Lance pursued his interest in meteorology and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Wisconsin. He even interned in the TV9 Weather Lab during his college years. Lance is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds their Seal of Approval for Television. Even though Lance now resides in the Hawkeye State, he will always be a Wisconsin Badger fan at heart. He is thrilled to be close enough to attend Badger games and get home to the family farm on occasion.
