Becky has been Director of Content for Gazette Communications since April of 2009. Before that Becky served as News Director for KCRG-TV9 for eight years. During those years, the KCRG-TV9 newsroom won numerous awards including Best Newscast by the Associated Press.
Prior to coming to
Iowa, Becky was News Director for WLNS-TV in
Lansing, Michigan. While in
Michigan, Becky’s news department was recognized by the Associated Press for General Excellence, Spot News and Hard News coverage. Becky also spent five years at WBAY-TV in
Green Bay, Wisconsin where she rose through the ranks from producer to Assistant News Director. Her greatest experiences and defining moments in news management while in
Green Bay were when she took 14 news employees on the road to cover the Green Bay Packers in two Super Bowls.
Becky earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and English from
Carroll
College in
Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Becky is a 2002 graduate of Leadership for Five Seasons through the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. She sits on the boards of the Downtown Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids and the March of Dimes.
Becky is married to Scott. They have two sons.
