Kurt Sempf is the News Operations Manager for KCRG-TV9.

A Mt. Pleasant, Iowa native, he joined the team in 1993 as an Associate Producer after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting from Northwest Missouri State University in 1991.

Kurt worked as an intern at CNN Washington in 1990 where he helped with the production of News Hour. Kurt has held nearly every off-air position in the KCRG-TV9 newsroom since he was hired. He is currently in charge of the News production staff.

He also enjoys doing post production work on numerous Show You Care specials. His awards include Best Public Affairs program in 1998 with the Iowa Broadcast News Association and the Associated Press for a half-hour fire safety special titled, "Get out Alive".

When away from work, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife Robin and their three kids, Ryan, Noah and Lauren.
