In 1908 the Higley Family gave their heart and soul to help build Cedar Rapids.
Today the Higley Mansion Care Center Family does not have the resources to rebuild the homes and businesses, like our ancestors did 100 years ago. But we do have the resources to help restore the human spirit. SO… Our annual garage sale we have to make money for our resident’s activities is being put on as a garage sale give away for the flood victims (survivors). ID is required and everything is free even a hot dog.
We have had many donations from families in the community, and even 2 different families from out of state. We are asking families to take only what you can use. We would like to help as many families as possible. What would you think about coming out Wed. morning and putting us on the 11:00 news?
More donations are welcome on Monday and Tuesday Thank-you for your time and your amazing coverage during the flood. You guys did a great job and I know you did not get much time to eat or sleep.
