Shenanigans Veterans Benefit & Ride

5th Annual benefit. The day will consist of a ride (motorcycles, cars, bicycles etc.) to several area businesses. The cost for the ride is $10.00 There will be 50/50 drawings and raffles throughout the day. There will be a wing cook off and a hog roast cook off to be judged in the afternoon. There will also be drinks and other food available for purchase. There will be events for children to participate in. There will also be live music throughout the day at Shenanigans. There will be hundreds of live and silent auction items to be bid on as well. The McGrath Harley Davidson Trailer will also be on site. The proceeds from this benefit will go to the Veterans Freedom Center that is located here in Dubuque, Iowa.

The 4th Annual AsianFest will be held on Saturday, July 8th. This is a free, fun event for families to come and experience the flair, fusion, and flavor of Asian cultures from rich performances, delicious cuisine to exotic cultures showcasing and celebrating the diversity that continues to be part of the Midwest fabric. In the evening, a must see colorful Fashion Show followed by a high energy International Dance Party. There will also be a Kid Zone featuring face painting, balloon animals, bouncy house, and more!

Zach Johnson Foundation Classic
Zach Johnson Foundation - Kids on Course

Cedar Rapids native and PGA TOUR Professional, Zach Johnson, will be hosting the 7th Annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic, a Pro-Am Tournament, on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Elmcrest Country Club. This exhibition golf event will feature several PGA TOUR players, some of golf’s future superstars and other local and national celebrities. Proceeds benefit Kids on Course

On the evening of Sunday, July 9, a cocktail party and dinner will take place at the Cedar Rapids DoubleTree by Hilton. This event will include a drawing party for all participating golfers as well as silent and live auctions. This will be a memorable evening for approximately 700 guests.

Tournament day will begin with a breakfast hosted by Zach and Kim for the golfers. A PGA TOUR Player Skills Contest will also take place at 9:00am. In the interest of safety and security of all participants, we will be limiting spectator attendance to 7,500 people.

Riley Smith Youth Music Festival

Join us for the 2nd annual Riley Smith Youth Music Festival on Saturday, July 15th. This event will feature youth rock bands, solo performers and singing groups from Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, and surrounding communities.

The day's event will culminate with a performance by Riley Smith and The Life of Riley, featuring Alburnett, Iowa native Riley Smith who starred as Markus Keene on ABC's hit TV drama "Nashville" as well as CW's hit TV drama "Frequency". Proceeds from the event benefit the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy.

Freedom from Hunger Food Drive

Veterans Memorial Stadium

Help those in need by donating food items to the HACAP Food Drive! Individuals may drop off items prior to the Kernels games on July 21st and July 22nd at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Donations are also accepted.

Can't attend the game? No worries, you can still contribute! Community organizations and individuals are invited to hold a food drive between June and August for the HACAP Food Reservoir. You may contact Linda Gorkow (lgorkow@hacap.org) to find out how to hold a food drive.

Kindness Walk & Kindness Project

Walk with families who have lost a child by joining the MISS Foundation in Lower City Park at the Angel of Hope Statue on Saturday, July 22nd. Donations go to the MISS Foundation as well as the Johnson County Crisis Center.

Warbirds Over Iowa
Cedar Rapids Skyhawks

Cedar Rapids Skyhawks Field

Warbirds Over Iowa is an event that brings radio controlled scale military aircraft from Iowa and surrounding States to Cedar Rapids. Aircraft of varying sizes and types are represented, some as large as 12’ across with four engines.The event is a draw to pilots in surrounding states and also a fund raiser for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. Donations will be taken for the organization that allows veterans to fly to Washington to visit their memorials.

The event is located at the Skyhawks club field north of town near county home road. Turn south on C Avenue from county home road, then take the first left. Aircraft will fly throughout the day 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 22nd. In the case of bad weather, the event will be moved to Sunday July 23rd. Lunch will be available as provided by Hy-vee.

Playing for a Purpose - Beat Out ALS
Team Butterfly Kisses - Walk to Defeat ALS

Play for a Purpose at the 4th annual Beat Out ALS Disc Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 23rd. Hosted by Team Butterfly Kisses, the money raised from this event will go to the Walk to Defeat ALS and the ALS Association Iowa Chapter.
