Committee Ends Dubuque Honor Flights

DUBUQUE, Iowa - There will no longer be honor flights leaving from Dubuque. The Honor Flight of Greater Dubuque committee says their mission was to ensure all World War Two veterans would have a chance to see memorials in Washington D.C. Officials say they have completed that mission and are disbanding. To date, honor flights out of Dubuque have taken 900 World War II and Korean veterans to our nation’s capitol to see memorials dedicated to their service. Any funds left from donations to the honor flights will now go to area veterans groups. There will still be honor flight opportunities for veterans in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, the Quad Cities and La Crosse, Wis.
