The 17th Annual Return of the Turkey Trot will be held Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 9:00AM. The race start will be at Marion Square Park in Marion, Iowa. The course will feature 8K and 4K routes with division awards, medals and pumpkin pies to the top three male and female winners. The race finishes at Vernon Middle School in Marion where the awards ceremony will take place at 11:00AM. Race participants can register early by picking up a form at Casey’s General Stores, First United Methodist Church of Marion, Running Wild, Linn County Sheriff’s Department, Farmer’s State Bank, Marion Independent Schools, Running Wild, Benchmark Physiotherapy Associates, Horizons or local fitness centers. An online registration can be found at www.getmeregistered.com under the “Return of the Turkey Trot -17th Annual, Marion.” Early registration cost is $18 and includes a T-shirt ($22 after Nov. 10 and $25 on Nov. 21st.). A pancake breakfast will be served at Vernon Middle School gymnasium in Marion from 7AM-11:00AM. Breakfast and race proceeds are directed to Horizons’ A Family Service Alliance to sustain its programs. Race registration includes a breakfast ticket but individual tickets can be purchased for $3.00. Register by Nov. 10 to be eligible for door prizes.
