Coats For Kids - Program Information

KCRG’s "Coats For Kids" program provides families in need with warm winter coats. This year we collected over 1700 coats!  Thank you to all who donated and helped out with the program.

KCRG-TV9 encourages donations in September and then area community action groups distribute the coats in October.

"Coats For Kids" collection will return September 1-19, 2009  Please plan to donate children’s size heavy winter coats - no light spring jackets, raincoats or clothing. Sizes most needed are infant to girls or boys size 12. Coats should be in good condition – nothing worn, torn or with broken zippers.

Donations will be accepted beginning September 1st at KCRG-TV9 studios, Collins Community Credit Union, Cedar Rapids Toyota-Scion, Carlos O'Kelly's Mexican Café and Mercy Medical Center and Physician’s Clinics.

Many Eastern Iowa elementary schools participate in the program as well.  Check back for a full list of collection sites in September.
