KCRG’s "Coats For Kids" program provides families in need with warm winter coats.  KCRG-TV9 encourages donations in September and then area community action groups distribute the coats in October. 

"Coats For Kids" collection will return September 1-19, 2008  Please plan to donate heavy children’s size winter coats - no light spring jackets, raincoats or clothing. Sizes most needed are infant to girls or boys size 12. Coats should be in good condition – nothing worn, torn or with broken zippers.

Donations will be accepted beginning September 1^st at KCRG-TV9 studios, Collins Community Credit Union, Cedar Rapids Toyota-Scion, Carlos O'Kelly's Mexican Café and Mercy Medical Center and Physician’s Clinics. 

Many Eastern Iowa elementary schools participate in the program as well.
