Kelly Varnum has been an educational audiologist with Grant Wood Area Education Agency for over 23 years. She has identified numerous children with hearing loss and given them the support they need to succeed in the classroom. She has followed many students from kindergarten through graduation, and has developed lasting relationships because of her commitment to them and their learning. She also educates teachers about hearing loss and equipment needs for some students. Kelly's area covers 55 schools in three counties and she sometimes drives hundreds of miles in a week to repair student equipment, or when out testing on the hearing van.
