November 2013 Winner - Matthew Trosky
Clear Creek Amana High School
Mr. Trosky is not only a teacher but a friend to me. This man has helped make my career happen. I have never really liked school and I struggled my Freshman and sophomore year. Then came my Junior year, this is where he came into my life and made a huge impact and change in my life. He sat me down and talked to me and talked to me and made me realize that school is my number one focus right now and I shouldn't worry about what my friends are doing I need to concentrate on my school work. He talked to me every day when I came into school. He would ask me about my homework and see if I got it done. He would share stories about how he was in high school and make me realize what I needed to do. At first I didn't believe him then I noticed a huge change in my grades and my grade point average. It was all because of him talking to me and helping me get through things that I just didn't want to do. He always knows how I am feeling. This is the only teacher I feel comfortable talking to at my school. I have never been into school or liked the teachers. Until the day I walked into his class and he helped me get on track to graduate with the class of 2014. I am now a senior and still in one of his classes. I know I can go to him when I need help not only on my Homework but with an everyday struggle. Mr. Trosky deserves this award more than anything. He gave me a personal award one day that I know have in a frame and it touched my heart. He is a wonderful man and I really want him to win this so I can show him that I appreciate what he has done for me.
