Solon High School: Janelle most definitely deserves this award because she is a caring considerate teacher to not only her students but everyone around her. She is willing to provide any help students may need with their work before and after school. She usually gets to school at 7:15 and is at school till 4:30 working with students on several levels of math. Janelle doesn't just teach one level of math but teaches three. She does a great job at explaining problems and assignments thoroughly so that everyone is able to understand what they are learning. If a student doesn’t understand something she also does a wonderful job at answering your questions so that you are able to learn to your full potential. She has also helped me tremendously throughout the past school years while I battled with being ill for four months. She always emailed me my assignments and would even call and email my mom every other day to see how I was doing. She also spent several weekends with me at school helping me with my make up work. I and many others thank her so much for helping us this year and continuing to be an amazing teacher, mom, and overall person. She is not only there for you to help with math, but she is a great person to talk to if you ever need to just talk to someone. She is a great listener, and tries her best to help you with whatever she can. She also has a great sense of humor which she incorporates within her teachings and makes her room a very welcoming and positive environment. Overall she is very kind, caring, heartfelt, extraordinary person. She always comes to school with a smile on her face ready to teach and help other no matter what she might be going through. She is a very busy individual juggling three kids, a husband, and all of her students. I and many others would agree that she is an amazing nominee for this award. She is hands down one of the best teachers I and many others have ever had and we all think she should be rewarded for all of her hard work and appreciation.
