57 Year Old Iowa City Boxer Wins Title Belt

Independence, Missouri – Iowa City boxer Mark Colbert won the 165-pound Masters division at the Ringside World Championships Boxing Tournament. The 57-year-old Colbert defeated boxers William Wine of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Jeff Guzzo of Sorrento, Florida, and Patrick Sullivan of Worland, Wyoming. Mark is trained by Emily Klinefelter and Adam Pollack at the ICOR Boxing Club in Iowa City (icorboxing.com). Mark is a Supervisor Plant Services for the University of Iowa. He has been employed at the UI for over 30 years. He is also an an ordained minister. He in part credits his ability to take up boxing just two years and 10 months ago and accomplish this feat as a result of his devout Christian faith. Mark is married and has three children.

The Ringside World Championships Boxing Tournament is the largest boxing tournament in the world. It features over 1,500 boxers from throughout the world.
