Charlene Malin

KCRG-TV9 Meteorologist Charlene Malin joined the KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team in December 2010 as weekend evening meteorologist.

Charlene was born in Minnesota where she spent her elementary school days. She then spent a few years in Missouri, Arizona, Texas, and Wisconsin before returning to Minnesota for college. After living all around the country, she knows that the Midwest is where she wants to stay.

She attended St. Cloud State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. While in college she was an active member of the National Weather Association and the student run television station, UTVS. She interned at KSAX-TV in Alexandria, Minnesota and KCLD radio in St. Cloud,
Minnesota and was the Chief Meteorologist at UTVS her senior year.

Before joining the KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team, Charlene worked at WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minnesota where she had her fair share of snow starting in October and going into May. She was the morning meteorologist and also served as the environmental and weather reporter.

Charlene is an avid volleyball player and enjoys going rock climbing. In her free time, Charlene is working on her American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast meteorologist (CBM) Seal and planning her wedding.
