Ross, charged with first-degree murder, is accused of shooting Roundtree as she was a passenger in a car, heading to a party that night. He also faces charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and going armed with intent. According to the prosecution, Ross armed himself and fired into the car that night. According to previous hearings for the four other defendants, who have pleaded to lesser charges, Roundtree wasn’t the intended target but it was a planned incident.
According to court records, the defense plans to claim the shooting was in self-defense or defense of another.
The four defendants who have pleaded in the case will testify against Ross this week, as part of their plea agreements.
