GRIMES, Iowa (AP) - A 26-year-old man has been arrested in the slaying of a Grimes man.

Authorities say David Moffitt, of Pleasant Hill, is charged with first-degree murder. Polk County Jail records say Moffitt remained in custody on Friday, pending $500,000 bail. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney in the case.

Moffitt is accused of shooting to death 30-year-old Justin Michael. Officers sent to a Grimes home Thursday afternoon on a report about a shooting found Michael, who had been fatally wounded.
