Each year, we hold a contest to discover the best local businesses. The 2009 A-list winners will chosen by real people from all over eastern Iowa. The 2009 contest runs March 23rd - May 17th, during which time thousands of locals vote for their favorite art gallery, day spa, burger, boutique florist and more!

What's new with the A-list this year?
This year, we’ve partnered with Iowa.com’s iGuide. What that means is more businesses and more info. Business listings and comments will not only be seen on KCRG.com, but also on Iowa.com, GazetteOnline.com, and HooplaNow.com.

How do I vote for my favorite business?
Voting begins on March 23rd and runs through May 17th. So all you have to do is visit www.kcrg.com/alist during that time period and pick your favorite in each category.

I don't see my favorite business, how do I get them on the iGuide?
Businesses need to list themselves, so tell the business owner to go to www.kcrg.com/alist to sign up!

Who is eligible to compete in the 2009 A-list Contest?
To enter the A-list contest, your business needs to be two things:

Within the KCRG-TV9 viewing area (these counties):
Allamakee, Benton, Blackhawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Cedar, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Tama, Washington, Winneshiek

Log-in to you iGuide account, here. Go to the DASHBOARD. Look for the A-list logo and select your category! You only get to compete in one A-list contest category, so choose wisely. KCRG.com A-list Contest Rules:

1. Any business owner within the eastern Iowa area may request to list themselves in a specific category in which their business legitimately provides services or specialization within a physical storefront. Exceptions include wedding-specific businesses.

2. KCRG-TV9 retains the editorial right to remove any business that has entered a contest incorrectly or has used marketing materials and language that is not in line with the spirit of the contest.

3. Businesses may use any official promotional materials provided on kcrg.com to promote their involvement in the 2009 contest. These resources are provided free of charge to all contestants. KCRG-TV9 reserves the right to remove any business that manipulates these materials or uses unsanctioned promotional materials from the contest.

4. Voters can only vote once in each category. Businesses are encouraged to invite their customers to vote online, but any business that attempts to manipulate voting results in any way will be removed from the contest.
