UI student beaten; family says attack racially motivated

A 19-year-old University of Iowa student from a Chicago suburb was severely beaten over the weekend, and his family said the incident was racially motivated.


High school graduation rates continue to climb in Iowa, according to the Iowa Department of Education. The state-wide graduation rate increased 2.5 percent from the class of 2011 to 2015.
