SOLON, Iowa - In a game televised live on KCRG 9.2, Mount Vernon used a big third-quarter run to beat Solon 56-47 on Tuesday night at Solon.

Miranda Chapman scored 18 points for the Mustangs in the win. Solon dropped to 10-9 overall (7-5 Wamac) and Mount Vernon improved to a Wamac-leading 10-2 and 15-4 overall. With Benton Community losing to Center Point-Urbana Tuesday, Mount Vernon is now tied for the best record in the Wamac.
